FAST funded research is leading the way to cure Angelman Syndrome

Updated: Jul 16, 2022

With four treatments already in clinical trial and many more being developed, we are so hopeful for a cure

94.3% of every dollar donated to FAST goes directly toward research.

"I never thought in my professional lifetime we'd be talking about a cure for Angelman Syndrome (other than the standard supportive therapies). I've spent a good portion of my career gathering information about the Natural History of this condition, and it is mind-blowing to imagine fundamentally changing the trajectory of AS, but I think we are on the cusp of doing just that! We are poised to have truly disease-modifying treatments that have the potential to alter the natural history of AS and bring benefits to patients of all ages. Thoughts of retirement were entering my head a year or two ago, but I can't think about stopping now when we are so close to a breakthrough!" - Lynne M. Bird, M.D.

There are so many exciting therapeutics in the pipeline including several ongoing clinical trials. You can read more about the FAST funded research here.
